Give and Receive

This is a very difficult post for me to write, but a family that I love very much needs our support.  My best friend and her husband discovered during an ultrasound yesterday that their baby did not have a heartbeat.  She was nineteen weeks pregnant and they were elated to find out if they were having a boy or girl.  I met them there to share in their excitement. An extreme high dropped to an extreme low.  She went on to deliver little Benjamin at 2:00 this morning and held her little sweetheart for the first and last time.  I can only begin to imagine what they are going through.  Instead of planning on bringing their precious one home, they are planning a funeral.  My heart is so heavy for them.

Obviously, there are expenses and coming up with a way to pay for that should be the last thing on their minds.  If you want to help them cover burial expenses and possibly a little extra to help in any way while they are grieving, I have added a PayPal button below for you to do that.

I am donating one photo session with digital files to one person who has donated.

Rules:

1.  Donations of $10.00 or more.

2.  The shoot must take place in January 2010 within an hour of Lafayette, LA (Baton Rouge is acceptable).

3.  The shoot is for one family/couple/individual – no large groups or events.

4.  You can enter more than once, and you can also enter for other people.

5.  Proof of your donation is necessary.
To enter:

1.  Donate $10 or more using the PayPal button below.

2.  Leave a comment on this blog post.

Winner will be announced Wednesday night.  You have until Wednesday at 8:00 pm CST to donate and leave a comment for a chance to win.

I know that finances can be tight, especially during the holiday season.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping and giving.

December 20, 2009 - 9:56 am Zak - My heart aches for this family. :( Let them know that they are not alone and that I feel their pain and sorrow. Little Benjamin is indeed watching over his parents.

December 20, 2009 - 2:55 pm Mariana - I once read that though life can never be full of joy, it can always be full of love. All these things that you're doing for your friends are gestures of love, and that is something beautiful and meaningful. My prayers are with you, your friends and little Benjamin. Blessings, Mariana.

December 20, 2009 - 9:13 pm Emily - Laura, my heart breaks for your friend. My husband and I lost our son, Jack, at 34 weeks. He was our first child. I know how overwhelmed she must be right now, but there is an organization that may provide support: http://www.nationalshare.org. She and her husband will remain in our prayers.
